How to Get a Dynamics 365 Free Trial Environment

Earlier, till a couple of months ago, we used to get a Free Trial environment for Microsoft Dynamics D365 Finance and Operations (D365FO) through the below Microsoft link, but it looks like the process has changed.

Now we need to get the free trial through the Microsoft PowerApps application. Below are the steps to get the free trial for Microsoft Dynamics D365 Finance and Operations (D365FO).

Now: We need to follow 3 steps:

1. Acquire a free subscription-based Trial license
   • https://admin.microsoft.com/Adminportal
   • In the Marketplace, select or search for Dynamics 365 Finance Trial and subscribe
   • For more information, refer to https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/unified-experience/admin-trials
   
   
   


2. Assign the license to the User who is going to create Environment in PowerApps
   • Once you get the Trial license, assign it to the User who is going to create the environment in Power Platform admin center at admin.microsoft.com
   
   
   
   
   
   
3. Final step is to Create Environment in Power Platform Admin center and select Finance (Preview) app while creating the environment
   • Logon to https://admin.powerplatform.microsoft.com/
   • Create a New environment, Select Type = Trial Subscription-based
   
   
   
   
   
   
   • Enable Dynamics 365 Apps
   • Automatically Deploy these Apps = Select “Finance Preview”
   • Click Save and check the status in a few minutes
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
   

Result:Under the environment, you should see the Finance and Operations URL.
